Finished last race of the year

Success in so many ways. I am slow, but I am now putting in 30 miles per week. My legs are sore, but they are handling the distance.

Manchac 10 mile run

I mad my ten miler. I finshed sub 9 min/mile pace. Legs hurt pretty bad yesterday. Weather was overcast and it sprinkled on us most of the race. Wifie did the race and is hurting today. I am on track for my half marathon.

Completed first day of training

Yesterday and all Mondays are weights and stretching. I rode my bike to work and the gym - so that credts me with 12 miles.

The joints/bones in my foot kind of are bothering me a little bit. I can't recall the sensation before. Today I am going to do a easy three miler.

Almost finished first trial week of training

I am following a easy 1/2 marathon training program. I am supposed to start this coming week. I joined the gym last week and I started the first week so I could introduce myself to the gym and I could also assess how my feet would feel with the training.

All in all it should be good for me because I am going to get a variety of training. Weights, cycling, running, speed work etc. This program is mild, so I should not put too much stress on my body.

I flared my ankle yesterday

I am taking my first day off today in a week or two. I am still going to ride my 10 miles to work. This is the first time I have felt my ankle since my last race.

I ran with my old shoes since it was a trail run. I didn't want to mess up my new shoes.

Spilway Classic

I rode my bike 5 miles to the race, did the 3 mile trail run and rode back home 3 miles. Not before eating: red beans & rice, two hotdogs, and a pulled pork sandwich.

Ran 30 minutes

Purged

Purged!!!!! Yes it was childish; but at the same time, it was liberating. Wifie crossed the line. She rummaged through my stuff. She was going to assemble my hard earned awards. She was treading on sacred stuff. She still does not get it!

Well me in a tantrum, collected all of my prize stuff and carried it into the trash. My IM Hawaii medal went into the trash, nary a goodbye gaze. Could I describe it in detail? I do not even know what it or any of the others looked like.

I was hanging on to the past. I have the memories. I have always knew deep down that the training was really the good stuff. The training is what makes you who you are.

Anyway goodbye and good riddance. She did me a favor!
