Problem:

Specs take too long to create!

Solution:

Create MS Access solution that will read:
1) a scanned paper spec - converted to a excel or mdb file
2) a set of catalogs

It will produce a complete set of piping specs suitable for AutoPLANT.

Step 1. Scan the paper specs and convert to digital format.
Step 2. Tweek the digital data - add catalogs to look through.

Step 3. Run the automated program that will produce the end result.

Potential problems!

The finished file may not be able to be read by SPECGEN

An added bonus would be to create a finished file which could be read by specgen

I do not know how ambitious of a project this is, but it could be very useful.

Perhaps I could make money. It would lead to a better understanding of databases and AutoPLANT.

This is a project worth studying.
